I created an aerial dance/musical number about sex robots that achieve self-awareness during the Singularity, through my dance/theater fellowship with the Watah Theater in Toronto. To design the costuming for the Wearable Tech Circus/Fashion show “Cirque-IT,” I worked with the amazing Hillary Predko and Lindy Wilkins.
We prepared to perform this piece, we used an accelerometer mapped to my movements on the lyra (my circus instrument) to generate the patterns printed onto the textile of the costume.
Below was my first attempt at creating a glove with a conductive thread and patch switches that would turn on the LED lights on my costume when I touch the metal ring.
